MODERNSPEAK is a labour of love fueled by a small team of driven professionals with a combined 25 years of experience in travel and tourism marketing, influencer management, and boutique public relations.

Who We Are

Kristyn Snell (She/Her)

Founder

As the founder and CEO of MODERNSPEAK, Kristyn combines her love of travel and lifestyle marketing and her ability to create meaningful engagements for brands and destinations with creators, media and their unique audiences. For 13 years, her passion and creativity have led to several award-winning integrated communications and marketing campaigns that have created a lasting impact on the brands and destinations she's partnered with.

Kristyn's innovative and bold ideas and constant desire to stay on top of trends drive her to design dynamic campaigns in digital media marketing. Her career began at a boutique PR agency representing hotels and restaurants before joining the destination marketing space. Kristyn led PR for North America and launched the Creator Community initiative, Creator House and several other influencer and content marketing strategies for Travel Alberta. This experience saw her collaborating with brands such as GoPro, Expedia, CNN, Sony and Fairmont Hotels, as well as top-tier publications.

Never lost in a crowd, Kristyn is most creative when surrounded by people, collaborating, mentoring and bridging opportunities between creatives, consumer brands and tourism destinations. When her dream job didn’t exist, she created it.

Tara Gaucher (She/Her)

Influencer Relations and Business Develoment Manager

Tara is a seasoned storyteller with a background in public relations.  She has been actively involved in media and production for almost three decades. She’s worked on camera for brands like Ford and Travel & Leisure, and behind the scenes managing production for large-scale commercial shoots.

Having served as the Public Relations Manager at the Fairmont Banff Springs in the luxury hospitality sector, Tara's passion for enabling captivating travel and adventure stories truly ignited. Her expertise in managing the public image of an iconic hotel solidified her understanding of the power of compelling storytelling. It provided incredible networking opportunities hosting top-tier international travel writers.

Currently, at MODERNSPEAK, Tara assumes a pivotal role overseeing brand partnerships for creators on the roster alongside producing and managing commercial content creation opportunities for both brands and destinations. In her endeavours, Tara is known for championing win-win relationships and prioritizing authentic interactions above all else.   Outside office hours, you’ll find Tara teaching yoga, coaching CrossFit, and staying active in the mountains.

Madison Reid (She/Her)

Coordinator, Influencer Management

Madison is a social media enthusiast who thrives in the world of influencers. With a genuine love for all things social media, she brings her expertise to MODERNSPEAK as a talent coordinator. Her primary focus is on nurturing and supporting MODERSPEAK's talented creators, ensuring they have access to the best opportunities available.

Madison's passion lies in expanding MODERNSPEAK's influencer network, constantly seeking out new and exciting talent to collaborate with. With her knack for building relationships and her deep understanding of the social media landscape, Madison plays a vital role in connecting creators with the perfect platforms to showcase their unique voices.

She is driven by her desire to bring the best out of each individual and foster a vibrant community of influencers.  For fun, Madison loves to spend time outside on running trails. She also loves to bake in her free time and is always on the hunt for the best bakery style cookie recipe.

Rose Chase Bolton (She/Her)

Managing Director

A strategic communications leader with 15 + years of experience in digital marketing and public relations, Rose has a long track record of executing successful integrated marketing campaigns that drive business growth and enhance brand reputation. Rose has worked with the industry's top tourism and lifestyle publications and digital creators to shape the narrative of destinations and tourism organizations across Canada, such as Whistler Blackcomb, Rocky Mountaineer, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Travel Alberta and Lynx Air.

Rose leverages her extensive experience and unique understanding of target audiences and industry insights to develop innovative integrated marketing and communication strategies. She is skilled at designing strategic initiatives, identifying customer needs and pain points and leading cross-functional teams to deliver results.

Rose loves to try out new hot spots in her free time and share all the best tips and tricks for exploring the hidden gems of Western Canada and beyond! She stays grounded through her yoga practice and hiking and has recently taken up mountain biking and pickleball.

Nadia Kearl (She/Her)

COORDINATOR, PR & SOCIAL MEDIA

Nadia Kearl is a recent graduate of the NAIT Radio and Television Diploma Program. As a part of her Diploma, she spent her four-month practicum working for the Calgary Flames - her favourite hockey team. She completed two years of University studying Linguistics and French and has a Copyediting Certificate from Mount Royal University. Nadia has been a UGC Creator for three years and has consequently made it into her own business. She is skilled in acting, videography, video editing, scripting, being authentic on camera, and generally has a knack for digital marketing; all things essential for working as a social media coordinator for MODERNSPEAK. Aside from working, Nadia enjoys doing cheerleading and gymnastics, watching hockey (go Flames go!), and hanging out with her friends. She also has two nephews and a cat whom she loves dearly.

Gaby St-Vallières (She/Her)

Senior Talent Manager

Gaby has worked with an exciting list of Fortune 500 clients, which has given her strategic insights into almost every type of vertical. She has spent her 7+ years career connecting with influencers worldwide and providing them with the best campaign opportunities. With a creative eye and careful attention to detail she felt pulled to MODERNSPEAK to manage a roster of incredibly talented creators. Fluent in Spanish and conversational in French, she is able to make connections with foreign clients and influencers alike. Her background in Psychology allows her relationships to be long lasting and successful. At MODERNSPEAK, she is committed to matching the best talent to the best clients.

Gaby loves animals, yoga, gaming, traveling, and great food. She is an avid cinephile and a lover of art and music.

Josiah Joseph (She/Her)

Talent Manager

Driven by her natural curiosity of the world, art, people, culture, and technology, Josiah is a storyteller at heart. With over 10 years of experience working with creatives as a Producer, she has built a diverse portfolio of video and digital content, live and virtual events, creator partnerships, and influencer marketing projects for internationally recognized brands. Josiah's diverse background in film/TV, tech, and marketing has given her a unique ability to balance creative and business priorities and see multiple angles, formats, and opportunities to tell a story that resonates with audiences in impactful ways.
